Grace Chan

Senior Lawyer

Grace is an experienced property lawyer, with additional broad commercial experience, within private practice, corporate and the government sectors. Grace has a reputation for efficiently and effectively dealing with issues and finding solutions around large and complex property developments and transactions. Grace’s strong interpersonal skills also enable her to quickly earn the trust and respect of clients to help provide for successful commercial outcomes.

After an initial few years working in the commercial property team of a mid-sized law firm in Auckland, Grace spent almost 10 years working as in-house legal counsel in both the private and government sectors before joining Brown Partners in October 2018.  Over the years her work has broadened into property and commercial areas of legal practice.

Grace’s core work includes advice on acquisitions, complex development and subdivision projects, as well as leasing and general property work.

Having worked as an in-house legal counsel in the telecommunications, energy and property development and construction industries, this allows Grace to bring a wider perspective to her advice on legal issues, with a focus on providing practical, commercial and sustainable solutions to best meet clients’ business objectives.  In recent years, Grace has specifically focused on business process optimisation and developed new bespoke legal solutions to help clients effectively achieve their desired outcome.
